Description
English: This bridge spans the Ohio river at it's widest point. This view is looking west from the Kentucky shore in Louisville. At the left is the entrance to the Portland canal. A vertical lift section of the bridge is shown in the down position. This section, when raised, provides clearance for river traffic. The Portland canal leads to the McAlpine Locks. The right (north) side of the bridge is in Clarksville, Indiana. An article on this bridge is in Wikipedia as "Fourteenth Street Bridge (Ohio River). This image was stitched manually from 18 RAW images using Photoshop CS.
